The Running Dead Gears Up for Another Year
One of Wichita Falls' most unique events seeks sponsors
One of the most unique events we saw in Wichita Falls in 2024 was a Halloween-themed event called The Running Dead. Here at TheFUSE, we are suckers for any event with a scary Halloween theme, and The Running Dead was a perfect family-friendly event with a horror twist. Participants were encouraged to come out and run (or walk) a pre-determined course through downtown Wichita Falls, and along the way “zombies” would pop out from hiding places, providing a harmless scare. There was a deejay along the route providing a tsunami of foam, a costume contest and more. Truly a cool event.
This year, TheFUSE hears the organizers are planning an even bigger and better event, and with plenty of lead time (they were rushed last year) we can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with.
