A Pre-Festival Salute to Danny Ahern
St. Patrick's Day music in Wichita Falls wouldn't be the same without him
It is undisputed fact that Wichita Falls’ music scene wouldn’t be the same without the influence of the late Danny Ahern. Founder of the Iron Horse Pub and the St. Patrick’s Day Downtown Street Festival, Danny was much beloved in our city and performance community, so it is no surprise that there were many heartfelt statements coming from the stage during last night’s performances by Strange Lucy and Hellen Bach—touching tributes and toasts to a proud Irishman on the eve of the festival he founded.

Danny loved these groups, and all the others who pour their hearts into their craft, and he surely would have attended if he was still with us, but his presence could be felt nonetheless.
We hope you enjoy the photos from the show. Do you have a memory of Danny Ahern? Please tell us in the comments.
